Note: I'm experimenting with tiny blog posts that link to full SolveIt dialogues showing my problem-solving process, rabbit holes included.
I used to think setting up a VPN server was beyond me. Turns out you can run your own secure server for $5 USD a month.
I'm a student in the second cohort of the Solve It With Code course. A recent lesson walked us through server setup, which I'd never touched before. Our instructor challenged us to set up our own and install WireGuard, an open-source VPN. I took the challenge.

Security details are redacted of course!
I expected this to take far longer than it did, but the whole process took just a couple hours. Most of that time was spent improving my own understanding of the process, including learning bash commands and verifying that the AI's advice was accurate. I wouldn't skip the rabbit holes though. Without that exploration, I'd have a working VPN but zero understanding of how I got there.
